  • October 23, 2025 Guru Heera Kulkarni was recognized by the City pf Elk Grove, CA for her contributions and community service to the Elk Grove, CA and Sacramento communities. 

  • October 5, 2025 International Peace Festival in Elk Grove CA where Raga Academy students sang the "Sangcchadhvam" shlokas from the 23,000 years old Rig Veda and also American Folk Songs including the Freedom song. 

  • May 10, 2025 4th Mehfil-e-Ghazal Fundraiser was held at Pinkerton Middle School in Elk Grove. Our chief guest was Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Allen-Singh. Many Raga Academy students sang beautiful Ghazals and popular songs based on popular Ragas. Guru Heera Kulkarni sang traditional Ghazals based on the same Ragas. Our major partner was Annapoorna USA Foundation non-profit. We awarded 30 Laptop Scholarships this year to the High School Seniors entering college from the SAFE Homeless Education program of EGUSD. 

  • November 9, 2024 I 2nd International Peace Festival I Rancho Cordova City Hall We brought the world together with many multicultural presentations highlighting Indian, Vietnamese, Chinese, African-American, & Latin-American culture. we also launched Peace Ambassador Awards. This year's recipients were the Mayor of Rancho Cordova, Vice-Mayor & Keynote Speaker Siri Pulipati & Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Allen-Singh.

  • September 18, 2024 Ganesh Utsav, Folsom, CA Guru Mra. Kulkarni and students performed devotional songs. 

  • September 14, 2024 Whole Foods Plant Based Cooking Demo by Heera Kulkarni, Chef in a Saree at the SacTown Veg Fest 2024. Wearing many hats in different fields is very rewarding. 

  • May 11, 2024 Spring Celebration - It takes a while to gather all the donations & pledges. Handed over the fundraiser check to the founders of the Humanitarian Action Network with a musical afternoon. Many of Raga Academy singers and community members sang melodious Ghazals, popular film songs and we ate delicious food brought by everyone. 

  • October 6, 2024 Workshop Presentation at iFest and iHouse, Davis, CA by Introduction to indian Music by Guru Heera Kulkarni and adult students.

  • March 9, 2024 3rd Mehfil-E-Ghazal Concert Fundraiser was held at the Rancho Cordova City Hall. We raised $4,111 for the Humanitarian Action Network nonprofit serving the shelterless population of Sacramento. Grateful to all the donors, supporters, volunteers and students of raga Academy for singing so beautifully. 

  • January 21, 2024 Shri Ram Lalla Mandir Murti Prana Pratishtha Celebrations - Guru Heera Kulkarni was assisted by her students to sing several Ram Bhajans at the Laxmi Narayan Mandir. 

  • 2020-2023 - The students, parents and Guru of Raga Academy of Indian Music, all faced many challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Guru Heera Kulkarni promptly closed the music academy following the CDC guidelines issued in March 2020. On parents insistence and to offer a reprieve to all, Guru Mrs. Kulkarni thought of restarting the music training online, taking the in-person Indian music lessons to virtual. She was already teaching a couple of students online successfully from different states of USA . Many students enrolled and the online teaching experiment was a huge success. Mrs. Kulkarni also organized many online recitals that were broadcast live on YouTube. Online classes are still a big part of Raga Academy's weekly classes. 

  • February 2018 - "Beloved Bapu" A one hour dance/music/art show was produced by Guru Heera Kulkarni at the B-Street Theater to inaugurate their new building and B-Street's Gandhi play production. A memorable event where many Raga Academy students participated.

  • June 24, 2017 - Lecture by Yogini Heera on "Ashtāng Yoga" or "Eight-fold Path of Yoga" at the International Day of Yoga held at CA State Capitol.

  • Parampara - 14th Annual Student Recital was held on April 29th, 2017

  • September 9, 2016 - Gauri Puja at Kulkarni Residence - Devotional singing from 5:30-7:30 pm

  • August 20, 2016 - Participating at India Day with two types of Raag Malhaar & film songs based on these Raag-s.

  • July 2016 - Preparing for the India Day performance of presenting glimpses of two types of Raag Malhaar and film songs based on them, coinciding with this year's theme of "Barsaat".  "Swar Tarang", the monthly musical afternoon is on hold until India Day performance....

  • June 23, 2016 - Summer fun at Mustard Seed School- teaching Dandiya to sixteen children and teens! Everyone loved the upbeat music and the movements.....My four years of training in Kathak comes in handy!! 

  • June 22, 2016 - Raga Academy of Indian Music once again enriching the Sacramento, CA community events. Students performing at the Meet & Greet Public Officials organized by IAS-Indian Association of Sacramento. With Sharvani Patil, Sanjeev Amblam, Anisha Raina, & Sejal Anuraji. Learn light vocal music, semi-classical vocal, harmonium, keyboard & Hindustani vocal classical music from an experienced & dedicated teacher with many years of teaching experience.   • Bollywood & Hollywood Dhamaka - Fun Karaoke songs, Bollywood dances, Fashion Show, & Antakshari. Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Russell Ranch Elementary School, 375 Dry Creek Rd., Folsom, CA 95630. Slots available for Bollywood dances. Community service hours will be given for volunteering. Please contact (916) 686-5785.  $225 was collected on the day of the event and later after adding more money, a total donation of $1,000 along with five boxes of nutritious snacks was made to Mustard Seed School for homeless children of Sacramento, CA.

  • India Day 2015 - Aug. 8, 2015 - Raga Academy of Indian Music Performed Madhuban Mei Radhika Nāche' Re' based on Raag Hameer...Added all the beautiful elements - mesmerizing singing, lively tabla beats, kathak dance, cute Krishna & Radhikas...What more can you ask for!! Wonderful work by Raga Academy students. Keep on singing!!

  • July 11, 2015, from 10:30-1:00 pm. - Recitation of Ch. 3 of Bhagvad Gita. Chapter 3 is about how to do"Karma Yoga" for the benefit of the masses. On this auspicious day launching of VI-SH Koranne Charitable Foundation also took place. Akhil Sundarajan presented very melodious devotional compositions in different languages.
